A Scout is Reverent Retreat September 16th!

This one day retreat allows Scouts and Scouters alike to earn a special custom made badge! You will get a chance to learn about Scout Interfaith Services, the wide variety of Religious Emblems, and enjoy a catered lunch. The retreat will be held at the Bobby Lyle - Billy Gamble Scouting Center at 5600 US Hwy 75 South, Fairview, TX 75069 on September 16th, 2017 from 9am to 1pm. The presentations and trainings will be lead by the Circle Ten Council Religious Relationships Committee, the Council, District, & Unit Religious Emblem Coordinators, as well as leaders of the Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and various Protestant Religious Committees on Scouting.

The retreat will begin with lessons on how to create Interfaith Services with resources provided to make your own. After this, there will be a presentation on Religious Emblems that Scouts and Scouters of all ages can earn, including a chance to sign up to work on these programs. Next there will explanations of the role of the Unit Chaplain, Unit Religious Emblem Coordinator, and the Chaplain's Aide. Then there will be a catered lunch, afterwhich the Scouts, with guidance of the Scouters, will create their own Closing Interfaith Service.
