60th Anniversary Jamboree on the Air!

"What would you think of a World-Wide Scouting event that brings almost a million Scouts together where our Scouts could participate at virtually no cost to Pack 693 or the Scout?"
Radio Scouting is the intersection of Scouting and amateur radio. As such it introduces Scouts to the fun, technology and magic of amateur radio. It does this through the power of the world's largest Scouting event, Jamboree on the Air, with Scouts engaged in connecting with one another through amateur radio the third weekend of October (October 20-22).
Jamboree on the Air is the largest Scouting event in the world. In a typical year nearly 1 million Scouts participate with over 11,000 stations operated by 20,000+ amateur radio operators in operation from 150+ countries around the world.
One of Cub Scouting's Arrow of Light required adventures is Building a Better World. A key requirement is to connect with a Scout in another country during an event such as Jamboree on the Air or Jamboree on the Internet or by other means. You will have an opportunity to complete this requirement here.
Pack 693 will be visiting Lewisville Amateur Radio Association to participate in JOTA. All Scouts participating will receive the 60th anniversary JOTA patch.
