What is expected of my Webelos II Scout & me?

Your new Webelos II scout will be required to complete (4) "Core" Adventures and (3) Elective Adventure in order to receive his "Arrow of Light Rank / Badge"

  1. Complete each of the following Wolf "Core" required adventures with your den or family:

  2. Complete three Webelos Elective Adventure of your den or family's choosing.

  3. With your parent or adult partner, complete the exercise in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide, and earn the Cyber Chip award for your age. *

* If your family does not have Internet access at home AND you do not have ready Internet access at school or another public place or via a mobile device, let your DL or Committee Chair know so we can make arrangements to bring in one of our laptops etc. for your scout to use.

Ideally we would like to have the scouts complete these advancement requirements by end of February or March. If any of the adventure requirements are missed it will be up to the parent to make this item up. Your Den Leader will be happy to work with you on any make up items that are needed.

Parent Action Items!

  • Complete the Duty to God in Action Adventure at home

  • Complete at least (3) Elective Adventure at home.

  • Keep track of all electives adventures done at home and report them to your DL.

  • Login to Scoutbook to keep track of your scouts "Progress to Rank"

  • Webelos II's (AoL) Badge Checklist Worksheet PDF @ usscouts.org

  • Check with your Den Leader to see if he will need any added items such as paper towel rolls, coffee cans, crayons, markers etc. for upcoming craft projects.

NOTE: As your scout grows you are expected to take a step back and let your scout be more responsible for his own Adventures. As a Webelos II (Pre Boy Scout) he should be doing all the communicating with the Den Leader on items your scout has completed on their own. Helping them become more responsible is a crucial step into Scouts BSA.

As part of your scouts AoL requirements they will need to demonstrate several things on their own and will be required to camp with a Scout Troop of their choosing. The Webelos DL will help to make the arrangements for these events to occur.

You can help the pack by being a parent volunteer at our Fundraisers, Camps, Blue & Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby or other pack events.

The defined / required adventures are designed to be worked on in the den. It is the Den Leader's choice if he wants each scout to pick their own elective or if he wants all scouts to do the same one as a den. The Duty to God adventure can and should be done at home with family or at place of worship.

Once Core / required adventures are completed, there are a total of 18 elective adventures for your Webelos to work on if he would like to earn extra Activity Pins.

Login to Scoutbook on any computer or mobile device so you can track your scout's progress.
